With about 2 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter, I awarded Coach Heath his first Technical Foul after he visibly waved his hands at me in disagreement with an illegal screen I had made against one of his players. He requested an explanation for the Technical Foul which I granted him during the 3rd/4th quarter break, and during which I repeated what I had told him before the game; that if he wanted to discuss plays/calls I would be more than happy to have a discussion with him as long as the interaction remained professional, but that expressing resenment visibly in that manner was in my opinion an unsporting act and warranted penalty. With about 6 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter, Coach Heath continued to complain about our foul selection and made derogatory/unsporting comments about me and our foul calling as I ran by him on at least 2 occasions following the first Technical Foul. I awarded him the second Technical and instructed him to leave the arena. |
