| #34 | Football | 9/9/2016 | Dennis Barela/Lilly Hill | At 1:39 remaining in the 4th quarter, the Tohatchi Cougars completed a long pass play that ended on the Whitehorse Raider 30 yard line. After the play ended, Raider player #34 became frustrated and threw the football directly at the back of an opponent. The Umpire (Dennis Barela) threw the flag for the Unsportsmanlike Conduct foul (NFHS Rule 9-5-1). Immediately thereafter, Raider player #34 shouted to the opponent, “ … then I will beat the f***ing s*** out of him!” The umpire threw a second flag for Unsportsmanlike Conduct on Raider player #34 who (by rule) disqualified himself from the contest. The penalties were assessed and the disqualification announced. The game resumed without further incident. The crew of officials were Lilly Hill (Referee), Dennis Barela (Umpire), Raymond Cantrell (Headlinesman), and David Carabajal (Line Judge). The score at the time of the incident was Whitehorse 14, Tohatchi 12. The final score was Tohatchi 18, Whitehorse 14. | |
| Curestine Harvey | GirlsBasketball | 2018-01-26 | Brian Gilson | The player ejected committed a flagrant foul towards the end of the 2nd quarter. After speaking to my partner about it we didn't notice anything building between the players up to that point as it had been a very slow paced game with very few fouls. Green River was bringing the ball down the floor and I was the trail official. Just after crossing midcourt and getting to my position I noticed #32 running across the top of the key at full speed. It appeared she was trying to get into position. She angled towards the endline where I believe it was #14 from Green River was standing. The is when #32 lowered her shoulder and leveled the GR player knocking her to the ground very hard. The best way to convey how hard she hit her would be to compare it to football player hitting an unsuspecting opponent. This was not an accident. There was no play as the ball was nowhere near their location and it appeared to be an act of frustration on #32's part. Play was stopped and a flagrant technical was called and the player was ejected. |
